Echo Camp on Long Point sustains the finest qualities of the Durant influence on Raquette Lake in the 1880s. It was built for Governor Lounsbury of Connecticut in 1883. It was sold to an individual in 1948 who ran it as a private children's camp for over fifty years. It has now evolved back to its original use as a private family estate. Echo Camp is built of felled spuce logs, twig work decorates verandas and eves. Some buildings have applied bark sheathing. The main lodge consists of a one floor log hall flanked by twin two story log towers giving it a rustic, villa-like appearance. Interiors are covered in polished planks and narrow wainscoting.
